Frequently asked questions about Naro THC Hemp Edibles & Seltzers

What are THC hemp edibles & beverages?
Our gummies, edibles and Buzzin Berry seltzer contain hemp-derived Delta-9-THC within every serving which equates to less than 0.3% THC by weight. This is the same THC molecule that is cultivated in marijuana for its psychoactive effects. THC, CBD, terpenes and other cannabinoids are now grown and cultivated within hemp plants, the legal cousin of cannabis. The cannabinoids are then extracted and concentrated and infused within a chewable fruit gummy, seltzers, and other edibles.

Are these legal?
Yes! The 2018 Congressional farm bill legalized the growing and use of cannabinoids in hemp products after decades of government prohibition of the crop. The federal legislation permits CBD, CBN, and other cannabinoids and up to 0.3% of Delta-9-THC that is derived from hemp. This hemp-derived THC may be used and legally purchased in Virginia if it meets specific state requirements.

What about Virginia’s Marijuana laws?
Although recreational marijuana became legal for personal use in Virginia in 2021, the procedures for sales of recreational marijuana products have yet to be worked out. In contrast, the sales of hemp-derived, smaller concentrations of THC has been legalized by both the federal and Virginia state governments.

What about the 2023 Virginia laws that further limit THC content in edible hemp products?
To be considered compliant under Virginia law, each hemp gummy can contain no more than 2mg of Delta-9-THC along with any other cannabinoids like CBD that are unregulated and legal. The THC amount can be greater if  the amount of other cannabinoids is also increased to a ratio of 25 cannabinoids to 1 THC or the 25:1 rule. All the hemp products available at the Naro concession stand are Virginia compliant and gummies are available in amounts of THC of 2mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, and 25 mg of THC per gummy. Retail sales are licensed and regulated by the Virginia Dept of Agriculture. The Naro Cinema is a state licensed retail hemp provider.

Will these hemp products make me ‘high’?
The combination of psychoactive THC and other cannabinoids creates an ‘entourage effect’, resulting in stress relief, creativity, relaxation, and euphoric feelings. Larger amounts of CBD can cause a calming effect as well as enhance better sleeping patterns.

What about the sourcing of these products?
We offer hemp products made and distributed by Virginia-based companies. Pure Shenandoah and Magnolia Hemp edibles are made from organically grown hemp that is federally licensed.

What precautions, if any, should I take when trying THC edibles?
You must be 21 years of age to purchase THC edibles. These hemp-derived THC products are the real deal – they will get you high! Do not consume too much – you do not want to feel ‘overwhelmed’ or become anxious from the experience. Take only part of a gummy initially. It’s best to start small and then see where you want to proceed from there. Remember that it takes longer for the effects of edibles to kick in as compared to smoking or vaping. The THC infused seltzer waters take less time than edibles to feel the effects. Depending on many variables, it can take less than an hour but may take longer for the full effect. The duration and the strength of the effects vary from one person to another. Don’t drive when taking THC edibles. Be careful mixing THC products with alcohol consumption.
