The Beyond

A Special Screening Event presented by FILM BREAK SOCIETY
ALL TICKETS $15, ticket books are NOT valid for this event.

What kind of Halloween would it be without a few man-eating tarantulas, melting faces, burst brains, mauled throats and eye gougings? Why, no Halloween at all! Fortunately for us, the violent and disturbed of the Film Break Society, Grindhouse Releasing remastered the hellacious video nasty, THE BEYOND, from maestro della morte Lucio Fulci (ZOMBIE, CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD). Thick with dread and geek show gooey, the story of a young woman who inherits a fixer-upper New Orleans hotel (sick!) that rests atop a gateway to Hell (drag!). Arthouse glam but mostly nasty, THE BEYOND splatters all kinds of phobias and traumas into a bespoke nightmare vision of the end times. The end is nigh! Damnation for all! (1981, X, 1hr 27min)

THE PROGRAM ALSO INCLUDES:

Preshow megamix by D.J.S.H.O.D.A.N., an industrial and EBM specialist and host of Aquanet Rejects, a monthly fundraiser Goth night at Norfolk Taphouse. Beer & Wine sales benefiting Film Break Society

Presented by FILM BREAK SOCIETY, a nonprofit organization dedicated to big screen presentations of classic films and under-the-radar contemporaries.
