After The Wedding

Isabel (Michelle Williams) has dedicated her life to working with the children in an orphanage in Calcutta. Theresa (Julianne Moore) is the multimillionaire head of a media company who lives with her artist husband (Billy Crudup) and their twin boys in New York. When word comes to Isabel of a mysterious and generous grant for the financially struggling orphanage, she must travel to New York to meet the benefactor, Theresa, in person. She soon discovers that she has a whole past life that must be denied or else be confronted with the family. (PG-13, 110 mins)

“Much of the film takes place just before, during and after the wedding day, as Isabel, along with us, is suddenly forced to digest new information about a history she shares with Oliver.” – Michael O’Sullivan, Washington Post

“Based on the same-named 2006 Danish drama, this remake scores by gender-flipping the action and putting the story’s emotional weight on powerhouses Moore and Williams.” – Joyce Slaton, Common Sense Media
