Presented by Swedish Women’s Educational Association
Introduction by Mal Vincent

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Swedish filmmaker Ingmar Bergman’s birthday, the Swedish Women’s Educational Association (SWEA) presents three of his best films on consecutive Monday nights.

AUTUMN SONATA This iconic film was the only collaboration between cinema’s two great Bergmans – Ingmar and Ingrid. The monumental star of Casablanca plays an icy concert pianist and Liv Ullmann plays her eldest daughter. Over the course of a day and a long, painful night that the two spend together after an extended separation, they finally confront the bitter discord of their relationship. In Swedish with subtitles.
