7:30pm Doors | 8:00pm Live Performance | 8:20 Showtime

From the haunted heart of middle America comes CARNIVAL OF SOULS, a masterful work of atmospheric dread and a triumph of scrappy independent filmmaking. Produced and directed by Kansas-based industrial filmmaker Herk Harvey on a shoestring $33,000 budget, the film blends a stark European aesthetic with cheap drive-in movie scares. The story of an uptight church organist who’s plagued by visions of a sinister spectre after she miraculously survives a nasty car crash.

Extra! Live Performance!
For this exercise in mood and shadow, we’ve invited Norfolk ambient electronic artist KARACELL to perform before the film.

Proceeds benefit Film Break Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to big screen presentations of new independents and restorations.
