Honey Boy

Opens Friday, December 13th

From a screenplay by Shia LaBeouf, based on his own experiences, award-winning filmmaker Alma Har’el brings to life a young actor’s stormy childhood and his later struggles to reconcile with his father through cinema and dreams. LaBeouf takes on the daring and therapeutic challenge of playing a version of his own father, an ex-rodeo clown and a felon. Har’el’s feature narrative debut is a one-of-a-kind collaboration between filmmaker and subject. (R, 93 mins)

“In this intense, unsettling, modestly triumphant portrait of the artist as a young man, LaBeouf shows us not only how he grew up, but what it cost him along the way.” – Ann Hornaday, Washington Post

“With this drama, LaBeouf has created performance art so daring, shocking, and heartrending that you won’t be able to forget it.” – Tata McNamara, Common Sense Media
