Late Night

Legendary talk-show host Katherine Newberry (Emma Thompson) is the only woman ever to have a long-running program on late night. She keeps the show’s writers’ room on a short leash ― and all male. But when her ratings plummet and she is accused of being a “woman who hates women,” Katherine impulsively hires Molly Patel (Mindy Kaling), a chemical plant efficiency expert from suburban Pennsylvania, as the first and only female on her creative staff. But can Molly navigate the show’s entrenched hierarchy and make Katherine and her show more personal and relevant? (R, 102 mins)

“Humor can be a great equalizer, and Thompson and Kaling are terrific as two women who are funny as hell and should never be underestimated.” – Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times

“Emma Thompson gives an incredible performance from comedic timing to emotional sequences. Mindy Kaling may be a comedy phenom, but she moves the audience with her performance.” – Brooke Daugherty, Pop Culture Leftovers
