Ari Aster’s latest nightmarish vision gets a fresh cut, including extended sequences and entirely new scenes. Dani (Florence Pugh) and Christian (Jack Reynor) are a young American couple with a troubled relationship. But after a family tragedy keeps them together, a grieving Dani invites herself to join Christian and his friends on a trip to a once-in-a-lifetime midsummer festival in a remote Swedish village. What begins as a carefree summer holiday in a land of eternal sunlight takes a sinister turn when they are invited to partake in the ritual festivities. (171 mins)

“[The new version] isn’t a radically different movie, but it’s a much richer one; some of the added moments are less vital than others, but all of them help to create a more textured experience, and — perhaps most importantly — give you the time required to fall even deeper under its harsh psychedelic spell.” – David Ehrlich, IndieWire

“The recent 171-minute Director’s Cut of Ari Aster’s latest film, ‘Midsommar,’ transports its audience with a spell-binding power that only the very best movies have harnessed.” – Mark Tan, Full Circle Cinema
