Half a century after Paul McCartney and Wings took a studio vacation at Abbey Road to film their Band on the Run tour rehearsals, that picture, One Hand Clapping, is finally getting a wide release on the big screen for the first time. The movie will start getting limited screenings around the world beginning on Sept. 26. The picture will feature a new introduction by McCartney recorded exclusively for theater audiences, the “backyard session,” where McCartney sings Buddy Holly songs with only his acoustic guitar, and previously unseen polaroid pix from the sessions. “It’s so great to look back on that period and see the little live show we did,” McCartney said in a statement. “We made a pretty good noise actually! It was a great time for the band, we started to have success with Wings, which had been a long time coming.”
