2024 Oscar Nominated Short Films

We are pleased to once again be presenting a compendium of this year’s Oscar-nominated short films.

Each nominee is released in one of three distinct feature-length compilations according to their category of nomination: Live Action, Animation, and Documentary. See official website for nominees.

The films will be presented during the weeks before the 2024 Academy Awards event. The theatrical release of the nominated short films each year is the world’s largest commercial release of short films on the planet, delighting audiences and giving filmmakers unprecedented opportunity to entertain short film fans.

In recent years, the Oscar® Nominated Short Films have been released in over 700 theaters across the US and Canada, garnering reviews in every major news outlet, from The Hollywood Reporter, Variety and Deadline to The New York Times and the Huffington Post. The films have also been released annually in a growing number of theaters around the world, including the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, South Africa, Mexico, Chile, China and Australia among others, making it a truly international release.


2024 Oscar-Nominated Live Action Shorts

Thursday, March 7th at 7:15pm!

Here is this year’s lineup for Live Action Shorts Oscar nominees, which will be presented sequentially with a total running time of 140 minutes, rating equivalent of  PG-13/ R for adult themes. Rated R. Topics include murder, abortion, sexual abuse, and suicide. About on par with Live Action programs from previous years.

2024 Oscar-Nominated Animated Shorts

Saturday, March 2nd at 1:15pm!

Here is this year’s lineup for Animated Shorts Oscar nominees, which will be presented sequentially with a total running time of 80 minutes, rating equivalent of  PG-13/ R for adult themes. Not for children under 13, verging on R. This isn’t a family-friendly program – topics include the Holocaust, inferred child sexual abuse, and violent battle scenes.

Here is this year’s lineup for Documentary Shorts Oscar nominees, which will be presented sequentially with a total running time of 141 minutes, rating equivalent of  PG-13/ R for adult themes. Rated PG/PG-13. Topics include aging, friendship, economic inequality, Taiwanese independence, and book bans. Probably the most uplifting of the three programs this year!
